CERTFiED INTERNAL AUDiTOR
The IIA’s premier
certification is the only internationally accepted designation for
internal auditors. It has been designed to recognise the expertise of
those professionals engaged in Internal Audit. The IIA (Institute
of Internal Auditors) was founded in 1941 in the U.S. It serves
over 80,000 members in internal auditing, governance and internal
control, IT audit, education and security. It also serves as the
profession’s watchdog and is a resource on major auditing issues
worldwide.
Requirements -

A Bachelors degree or Professional qualifications like
CAT, AAT, ACCA, CA, etc.

Character reference
·
2 years of experience in Internal Audit or equivalent is
required for certification
Examination twice a year in May and November at over 200
sites, including Muscat, Oman.
The exams are 100% objective. The exam can be taken for all 4 parts or
separately for each part. Each exam is of 3 ˝ hours. Results are
released 2 months later.
Syllabus - The course covers the 4 subjects required by the
IIA:
Part I - The Internal Audit Activity’s Role in Governance,
Risk, and Control
Part II - Conducting the Internal Audit Engagement
Part III - Business Analysis & Information Technology
Part IV - Business Management Skills
As with our highly
successful Lambers CPA Review, we emphasize on in-depth learning and
important exam techniques. Success on this exam depends upon a genuine
understanding of the subjects. 120 hours of live classes are conducted
in Muscat College, Bowshar. Classes are held twice a week from 7:00 to
10:00 p.m.
