The
IMA is a non-profit organization founded in 1919 in the U.S. It has
75,000 members and nearly 300 chapters and several international
affiliates. The CMA / CFM certifications have been designed to recognize
the expertise of those professionals engaged in management accounting
and financial management.
The Institute’s
mission is to provide its members professional and personal development
opportunities through its worldwide CMA and CFM certification programs,
continuing professional education, corporate training programs, special
interest membership groups, professional publications, including
innovative research publications and the monthly Strategic Finance
magazine.

Applications
Part 1, 3 and 4 are
common to both exams.

twice a week, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

important exam techniques. Success on this exam depends upon a genuine
understanding of the subjects.
Educational:

A baccalaureate degree
Some non-US
transcripts require evaluation.

Professional qualification like CPA, CA, etc.
or

50 percentile & above on either GMAT or GRE
Educational
requirement need be fulfilled only within 7 years of passing the exam.
In addition the candidate must:
o
Be a member of the IMA
o
Have 2 years’ experience in management accounting or
financial management prior to or within 7 years of passing the exam
o
Give two character references
EXAMINATION
All
parts are offered in a computer-based format, worldwide, including Oman/UAE,
and are available nearly throughout the year.
The exams for the first
3 parts are 100% objective.
Part 4 will have
essays/problems.
The first 3 parts have
to be passed before taking the last part. Once the CMA is passed, only
the Part 2 of CFM has to be passed to get that certification also.
The
exam for each part can be taken separately.
