you are an accountant, and you want to be a CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT, read on. You will find the details that will help
you become a CPA and conquer the world!
From 2004 onwards, the format and contents of the
CPA exam have changed. The exams have becoming online (CBT
Computer Based Testing) and are given daily over a testing window of 60
days during every quarter of the year. The exams are given only within
the U.S.
The 4
modules under CBT are:
- Auditing &
Attestation
- Financial
Accounting & Reporting (including Governmental Accounting)
- Regulation
(Tax & Law)
- Business
Environment & Concepts
Basic
requirements:
A Baccalaureate degree (4-years) preferably in Accounting, or your
Chartered Accountancy qualification or any recognised professional
designation in Accounting permits you to sit for the CPA examination.

Here Are Some
Additional Useful Information:
ุ The
Educational Requirements differ from state to state.
Many states allow even non-graduates to sit for the CPA exam.
In some states, your professional license would suffice and no
other educational certificate is needed.
ุ
Foreign credentials have to be evaluated by a state-approved agency to
equate it to the U.S. system.
ุ We shall assist you to select the best state acceptable to your
qualification. Our
extensive experience will be helpful to you in this direction.
ุ
Any foreign student can sit for the CPA Examination without any
Internship.
ุ The examinations will be held during 4 testing windows in a year. It
will be given only within the United States or its territories and not
outside.
ุ A variation of essays (constructed responses) will be incorporated into
the examination simulations.
ุ The
candidates can take any or all 4 parts of the exam during the testing
window. But during a window the same part cannot be taken more than
once.
ุ
The examination fee is
likely to be around US $600
ุ
The Results will be
available approximately 2-4 weeks after the examination date.
ุ Once
a part is passed you have to pass all the remaining sections in the next
18 months to retain credits.
ุ A
number of states prescribe some experience for the CPA certificate
holders to obtain a license to practice. This may extend up to four
years or more of public accounting experience.
